My favorite watch of all time (2010-05-06)
I love this watch, especially the simple and elegant styling. It's a light matte grey that looks great with everything from jeans and a t-shirt to a suit. It is a bit hard to read the time in low light, though. The mesh band is great -- easy to adjust and very cool and comfortable.
Don't remember when I bought it, but it was at least six years ago and I never had any problems with it until last week. It stopped working so I had the battery replaced; that didn't solve the problem, so I'm shipping it to Skagen's repair center to get it fixed (hopefully for the cost of shipping).
I've worn it continuously and banged it and bumped it and worn it doing everything. A lot of people seem to have trouble with breaking crystals and bands, but I haven't had any problems in either area; in fact, it's still like new except for a couple of barely noticeable scratches on the crystal. I *can* hear it ticking if I listen for it, but if I'm *not* listening for it, I don't realize it's making noise -- kind of like paying attention to your blinking or your breathing.
Nice inexpensive watch with loud tick (2010-02-01)
This is a very nice lightweight and thin watch that looks more expensive than it is. You will definitely not notice it being on your arm, but you'll probably get many compliments. However, the second hand is loud enough to be quite annoying. In a loud environment, this is not a problem, but if you are in a relatively quiet room you will definitely hear this watch tick (even from a distance). I am a musician, and could hear the watch tick every time I stopped playing, so I ended up returning the watch for this reason.

Watch is very elegant looking.
The band adjustment is a snap,I usually have to take a new watch to the jeweler or take a half an hour figuring out the band and adjusting it on my own.
The watch keeps time spot on and it was super for the price.

My favorite watch (2009-11-26)
I typically go through watches relatively quickly. I use them to tell time and usually don't give it a lot of thought otherwise. My previous favorite was a simple wind up that I bought years ago for $20. That changed when my wife bought me this last year.
To start, it has some flaws. There's no light of any type, so if it's dark - you'd better have a light source or a different way of telling time. The catch can be finicky at times and your fingertip might smart for a while after popping it loose. The crystal face is convex ... so I've scratched it up a bit. There also seem to be concentric rings on the face of the watch that I only notice under certain light conditions.
Now the good. It's extremely simple. There's one knob, 3 hands, and a date. It's extremely light and handsome. The band is absolutely excellent. I love it. My wife paid full price for it last year and I think it was worth it. Seeing it at half price now makes me want to buy another.
I've had it for 11 months now and it's been through combat skills training, helicopter flights, convoys, and the daily grind of deployment in a desert environment. It's definitely banged up and worn. It's been treated very harshly, but I've only managed to damage the face and mesh band slightly. For the most part, it stays on my wrist and my G-Shock stays home.
I think that I'm going to make my next watch a Skagen as well.
